Get started to make your no bake Reese’s cheesecake by gathering together your ingredients and equipment. You will need:

1 package of cream cheese (8 ounces)

1 cup powdered sugar

10 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or 5 cups of finely chopped chocolate (1/4 cup per layer)

(The Reese’s cups should be unwrapped and finely chopped, while the chocolate can be in bars or packages of small pieces)

Other tools you might find helpful include:

8 inch round cake pan with removable bottom (easier to work with than a springform pan)

Step 1:

Line your pan with parchment paper so that it hangs down over two opposite sides.

This will help you remove the cheesecake later on without any trouble.

Step 2:

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until it is smooth.

Step 3:

Pour half of the mixture into the prepared pan.

Step 4:

Drop your Reese’s cups or chopped chocolate onto the cream cheese mixture.

You can do this by using a spoon to drop them in or by pressing them down with your fingers. If you are using chopped chocolate, make sure that all of the pieces are covered in cream cheese mixture so that they don’t dry out when you freeze them.

Step 5:

Top with the remaining cream cheese mixture and spread evenly.

Step 6:

Drop more Reese’s cups or chopped chocolate onto the cream cheese mixture. And repeat step 4.

Step 7:

Top with the remaining cream cheese mixture and spread evenly.

Step 8:

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best)

(Note: if you’re making this in advance, I would recommend freezing it instead of refrigerating overnight since freezing takes less time. Just be sure to wrap it well in plastic wrap before going into the freezer.)

Step 9:

Once the cheesecake has finished firming up, remove it from the pan by pulling it up on the parchment paper. If this is difficult to do, you can insert a knife along the inside edge of the pan and run it around to loosen it before trying to lift it out again.

Step 10:

Gently slide onto your serving plate. This will prevent damage that might be caused if you try to move or pick up the cheesecake while it’s still in the pan.

(Note: If your cheesecake does not come easily away from the long sides of your pan, allow it to firm up for another hour. You may even want to freeze it for an hour so that you can cut it cleanly.)

And there you have it! Your very own no bake Reese’s cheesecake. Serve chilled and enjoy!
