Beginner’s Sponge Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

4 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup butter (lightly salted)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

One cup whole milk

2 cups sugar

Two tsp baking powder

Baking:

Beat eggs in a large bowl for about 4 mins.

Add sugar and beat it for more 4-5 minutes.

Now, add vanilla and stir it at a medium pace.

Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl and add eggs and sugar in it.

Pour some grease on a cake pan.

Bake it at 325 degree until the toothpick in center comes out easily. When it starts smelling, then cakes are almost done.

Remove it and let it settle down for 10 mins.

Swedish Cake

Ingredients:

1⅓ cups caster sugar

Ingredients:

2 tsp vanilla sugar

1¼ cups plain (all-purpose) flour

2 tsp baking powder

100 ml water

Butter and breadcrumbs for the mould

3 eggs

75 g (⅓ cup) butter

Directions:

Heat the oven to 175-degree C.

Now, oil 1½ litre mould and sprinkle breadcrumbs on it.

Beat sugar and eggs together until it is fluffy for two minutes.

Mix the flour and baking powder into a bowl and then fold into the mixture carefully.

Now, soften the butter and add little water. Boil it and add mixture and beat it until it is mixed evenly.

Put the mixture in the mould.

Now, bake it for 35-40 minutes. See to it that the mixture begins to pull away from the container.

Cool it for 2-3 minutes and turn onto serving plate.

When it cools completely, remove the mould.

Queen’s Butterscotch Sponge Cake

Ingredients:

225g butter, melted

4 large eggs

400g full-fat cream cheese

225g all-purpose flour

2 tsp vanilla extract

Two tbsp milk

125g Sugar

100g Caster Sugar

For Butterscotch Sauce

75g Muscovado Sugar

150g runny honey

1 tsp vanilla extract

50g Granulated Sugar

120ml double cream

50g butter

Directions:

Heat the oven to 190 degrees C.

Grease the base with non-stick baking paper.

Take a pan to make a sauce. Put sugar, honey and butter in it and stir it on low flame for 10-15 mins.

Now, mix cream and vanilla extract in it and let it cool.

Beat the butter in a bowl with a wooden spatula and make it soft.

Now, add sugar into it and make it fluffy.

Keep beating it by adding one egg at a time a spoon of flour.
